WHOSE VOICE ISN’T BEING HEARD?

ADVOCACY

TOGETHER, WE CREATE CHANGE.

At the intersection of senior independence and personalized care, we continually seek opportunities to ask the big questions. To better understand both the individual needs of our local residents and the national trends of a growing senior population.

We have a legacy of creating change in health and societal issues by partnering with other nonprofits, government agencies and providers. Because in order to adapt to the needs of the people we serve, we must work together to find the answers.

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed individuals can change the world. It's the only thing that ever has.”

— Margaret Mead

ADVOCACY AND ACTION

SPEAKING UP FOR SENIOR RIGHTS

Fully representing the individuals and families we serve requires making their voices heard at the highest levels of local and state dialogue. In addition to actively participating in reform efforts in major cities, members of our leadership team have partnered with state Senators to represent the interests of underserved and at-risk seniors in state Senate hearings.

PARTNERSHIPS

Joining forces with a variety of experts in the public and private sectors drives change where it’s needed most for the people who need it most. Our nonprofit status, combined with 160 years of experience nurturing community collaboration, allows us to work with like-minded groups outside of our sector to find and implement innovative solutions.

COMMUNITY ACTION

Thoughtful care and compassion for older adults extends beyond the walls and campuses of our Ecumen living spaces. Identifying trends in our local communities to develop and provide innovative solutions that make the most impact for helping every senior live the life they choose.

PILOT PROGRAMS

Addressing the needs of the people we serve often means anticipating those needs, developing multiple solutions and proving which ones are most effective. It’s our way of remaining agile while making an impact.

AFFORDABLE HOUSING

Whether through income-based guidelines established by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) or through waivers determined by Medicare and Medicaid, we continually look for and create opportunities to add affordable housing options in the communities where we serve.
