COMPREHENSIVE HOSPICE CARE

Our highly skilled team of comfort-care specialists shares a passion for providing physical, emotional and spiritual care.

Medical Director & Hospice Physicians

Work with your hospice attending to develop a customized care plan and oversee the delivery of all aspects of care. They ensure initial and ongoing hospice eligibility.

Nurse Practitioners

Work with the hospice medical director and hospice clinical team to ensure that you receive quality and safe care. Nurse practitioners also visit you to certify your continued hospice eligibility.

Registered Nurse Managers

Specially trained Registered Nurses coordinate your personalized care, while also providing education and emotional support.

CNA Hospice Aides

Certified nursing assistants help with personal care, bathing and meal assistance.

Medical Social Workers

Involved with you and your family to provide emotional support and reassurance as well as assist with navigating and obtaining needed services and resources.

Spiritual Counselors

Available to offer spiritual and emotional support to you and your family. Spiritual Counselors also work together with your own faith community leader.

Music Therapists

Use music to support your physical, emotional, cognitive, and social well-being. After assessing your strengths and needs, Music Therapists provide treatment which can include singing, moving to, creating, and/or listening to music. They can also facilitate heartbeat recordings and other legacy projects.

Massage Therapists

Through a variety of massage techniques, Massage Therapists help to reduce areas of pain or discomfort and offer stress relief and relaxation. You can also elect to receive Aromatherapy as part of their visits.

Grief Specialists

Available to provide bereavement counseling and other supportive resources.

Volunteers

Where available, volunteers can provide comfort and companionship, caregiver respite, veteran support, legacy projects, pet visits and presence in the final days.

Physical, Occupational and Speech/Language Therapists

Therapy services may be utilized when they can help improve comfort, enhance quality of life, or identify solutions to challenges related to illness.

ELIGIBILITY FOR HOSPICE CARE

People may qualify for hospice care when:

  • Health care goals change from cure to comfort
  • There is a diagnosis of life-limiting illness
  • Your physician supports the decision to choose hospice services

Join us for this caregiver support group to connect with others in the role of caring for someone. Led by Ecumen staff who will provide information and tools to support you as caregivers. This group is a dedicated time where people who care for others, often loved ones with chronic illnesses, disabilities, or age-related conditions, can come together to share their experiences, challenges, and coping strategies. It provides emotional support, practical advice, and a sense of connection. No registration required.*

Join us as we explore the many transitions life brings—both the challenges and the opportunities for growth. This supportive gathering offers space for grief support, education, and meaningful connection with others who have experienced losses of various kinds, including the death of a loved one, shifts in independence and residence, changes in relationships, and other significant life changes. Led by Ecumen Hospice staff, our time together provides a compassionate environment to share stories, learn new insights, and walk alongside one another as we navigate grief and discover new beginnings. There is no cost to attend and is open to the community. No registration is required.*
