It can be hard to keep a normal exercise routine, especially during this busy holiday season. The National Institute on Aging offers some tips on restarting and staying on track with your exercise regimen after a break:

  • Don’t be too hard on yourself. Just try to get back to your activities as soon as possible.
  • Think about the reasons you started exercising and how much you’ve already accomplished.
  • Start again at a comfortable level, and gradually build back up.
  • Try an activity you’ve never done before.
  • Believe in yourself!

The National Institute on Aging also offers a video with tips on restarting an exercise program safely after a break. Watch it below!
