Ecumen’s Matt McNeill Joins Regional Aging Board

Matt McNeill, Ecumen Director of Business Development, has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Metropolitan Area Agency on Aging.

Matt McNeill, Ecumen Director of Business Development, has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Metropolitan Area Agency on Aging (MAAA), the regional Area Agency on Aging for the seven-county metropolitan area of the Twin Cities.

The agency was created under the Older Americans Act (OAA) to respond to the needs of Americans aged 60 and over. Its mission is to “assist individuals to age successfully and develop the capacity of communities to care for an aging population.”

“I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve on the MAAA board,” McNeill said.  “The agency plays a key role in understanding and meeting the needs of an aging population, and I’m glad to be a part of that mission.”

McNeill joined Ecumen in 2012 as a regional marketing director. In his current role as Director of Business Development, he is spearheading new senior housing developments, such as Abiitan Mill City in Minneapolis.

Previously, McNeill was corporate director of marketing for Walker Methodist and has worked at StoneArch Creative in Minneapolis, Aurora Health Care in Wisconsin and University of Chicago Hospitals. He has over 10 years of strategy development, marketing planning and sales team leadership, as well as advertising agency and business development background.

There are more than 600 Area Agencies on Aging in the United States and seven in Minnesota. Minnesota’s agencies are designated by the Board on Aging to administer OAA funds, do community planning and develop services and information and assistance programs.
