St. Mark’s Living Receives Workforce Grant To Help Recruit and Retain Employees

St. Mark’s Living, an Ecumen-managed senior living and healthcare campus in Austin, Minn., has received a $24,840 Workforce Solutions Grant from the LeadingAge Minnesota Foundation to help recruit new employees to senior care and to retain them after they are hired.


St. Mark’s Living Helps Paint the Town of Austin Pink – And Supports Its Director of Nursing in Her Cancer Battle

For the past five years, St. Mark’s Living has been raising money for Austin, Minnesota’s annual “Paint the Town Pink” to support research on breast cancer prevention and treatment.

In 1974 Debra Klouse, a newly minted nurse, first walked through the doors of St. Mark’s Living in Austin, Minn. She remembers how welcoming and friendly everyone was… how it was like being part of a big family. “I’ll try this for a little while,” she remembers thinking, “and a little while turned out being 40 years.”
