Gene Erlandson, 96, of Worthington, Minn., was stationed near Pearl Harbor Dec. 7, 1941, and survived the Japanese surprise bombing attack. 

His vivid memories of that day are recounted in an article in The Daily Globe in Worthington published two years ago.  Gene, a member of the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association, was a resident of Ecumen Meadows in Worthington until recently, when he moved to the Veterans Home in Luverne, Minn.
