Dr. G. Allen Power, a pioneer in dementia care, has just published a new book challenging most of the conventional wisdom about caring for those with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.

In Dementia Beyond Disease, Power argues that it’s time to radically rethink dementia care, and he offers many suggestions on how to do that.  Step one: quit labeling those with dementia as psychotic or delusional.

Writing in Forbes, Howard Gleckman reviews Power’s new book and offers perspective on his provocative ideas.
