89-year-old Hermina Hirsch fulfilled her lifelong wish on May 21, when she sang the national anthem before the Detroit Tigers game. Hirsch, who is originally from Czechoslovakia, spent time in five different concentration camps, including Auschwitz, when she was 17 years old. Hirsch's granddaughter recalls the importance of the national anthem to her grandmother. "It's one of her favorite songs just because she's so patriotic,' she said. "Just because of everything that she's been through and how she got here." Read more about Hirsch and her big debut in the Huffington Post's article here.
