Interesting Facts: Joe, who was in the Army in Field Artillery, was on leave in California hitchhiking.  Laura’s brother and sister gave him a ride to town.  Joe offered to help work on their care the next day, and they invited him for supper — which Laura was cooking.  Soon after, Laura and Joe got married when Joe was on leave from Alaska.  “You can still tell that Laura is the apple of Joe’s eye after 71 years of marriage,” says Brenda Labine, Life Enrichment Specialist at Ecumen Detroit Lakes.

Congratulations on your 100th birthday, Joe! Ecumen honors you.
