Almost two years and $12 million later, Ecumen Detroit Lakes last week celebrated the grand opening of its new Transitional Care Unit and Rehabilitation Center.

“We feel like we have survived the dust and disruption of construction, and now we will thrive in this beautiful space,” Executive Director Janet Green told the more than 300 people who came to the opening celebration and ribbon cutting ceremony last Wednesday. “We are so very proud and fortunate to have such a beautiful building with lovely healing spaces, as well as a state of the art therapy center.”

Detroit Lakes Mayor Matt Brenk and Chamber of Commerce officials were on hand for the event, which was covered in this Detroit Lakes Online story by Vicki Gerdes.
