Ecumen leaders and communities with outstanding achievements in 2016 were recognized at an awards presentation ceremony at the company’s annual Leadership Conference held on May 17, 2017.

About 330 Ecumen leaders gathered at the Hilton Minneapolis for a two-day program that included keynote speaker David Horsager, an expert on leadership and author of “The Trust Edge” and “The Daily Edge.”

Shelley Kendrick, Ecumen Senior Vice President of Operations and Chief Operating Officer, was master of ceremonies for the awards program. “The intent of all the awards is to recognize you for the dedication you and your teams have to our mission, vision and values,” she said.  “My hope is that you will take your awards back to your communities and celebrate with your teams.  Display your awards in prominent places and be proud of what you’ve accomplished.”

Ecumen President and CEO Kathryn Roberts presented the company’s Ecumen Way Award, which recognizes individual commitment and influence in enhancing and building Ecumen’s Brand and elevating the company’s mission, vision and values.

Two Ecumen leaders received the Ecumen Way Award – John Oliver, IT Director of Application Development & Support, and Sarah Pauza, Director of Treasury and Financial Planning and Analysis.

In presenting the awards to Pauza and Oliver, Roberts said: “Because of their expertise and integrity, both are highly sought out by colleagues who value their wisdom, insights and high standards.  We are honoring them for their outstanding work. But this award is not only about what they do, but also about the way that they do it.  They do it the ‘The Ecumen Way.’ They make Ecumen’s values of Innovate, Honor, Empower and Serve part of their job descriptions.”

The Ecumen Philanthropy Powerful Partner Award was presented to Sandy Lia, Fund Development Director at Ecumen Detroit Lakes, by Stacy Hanley, Senior Vice President of Public Affairs and Chief Philanthropy Officer. Hanley cited Lia’s significant fundraising work for Ecumen Detroit Lakes and her collaborative partnership with the Ecumen Philanthropy Department.
