HOW CAN WE ADVANCE OUR MISSION TODAY?

ABOUT US

FOR 160 YEARS —WE CELEBRATE THE INDIVIDUAL IN EVERYONE.

At the heart of everything we do is a faith-based tradition of serving individuals and families seeking resources for health and well-being. What began in 1862 as Lutheran foster care for refugees in Minnesota, has grown exponentially in scope, reach and aspiration.

Today our team members, residents and patients come from all walks of life as they continue writing their individual stories within our communities across multiple states. Behind strong leadership and a commitment to innovation, we’ve evolved into a leading and award-winning nonprofit provider, developer and operator of living spaces and services for older adults and their families.

Any given day within our communities, we’re focused on keeping individuals healthy, safe and connected. At the same time, our consulting services and technology solutions are in demand throughout the nation by organizations eager to learn from our expertise and license our technology.

We don’t pretend to have all the answers. But we’re committed to asking the questions that bring us closer to realizing our vision.

“There’s a reason we do things differently: Every person has a story. And every person deserves the opportunity to be themselves and live the way they want to live, at any age.”

— Shelley Kendrick, President and CEO
